A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Happy Christmas Eve Eve!
It’s one week and one day until the deadline of this year’s 1000 Word Photo comp. We want stories that are 1000 words exactly inspired by the image. Winners and shortlisted writers get published and get a share of the submission fees as a cash prize.
Deadline: 31st December 2024
Word count: 1000 words exactly (excluding title)
Entry fee: £6 submission only / £23 with feedback

The winning and shortlisted stories will share up to 66% of the entry fees (after Submittable fees are deducted) .
1st: 20%
2nd: £15%
3rd: £10%
Shortlisted stories (max 7): 3% each
All winning and shortlisted stories will be published in WestWord in March 2025.
